Yatra's Revenue soars up to Rs. 110 Crore Recording 17.2% growth in Q3 FY24

Online travel aggregator Yatra has recently released its financial report for the third quarter of the ongoing fiscal year (Q3 FY24). Yatra had posted a net loss of INR 17.1 Cr in the preceding September quarter of 2023. After the loss in Q2, the company jumped and bounced back by recording profits in Q3 along with crossing 110 crore revenue mark during the period.

According to the financial report of National Stock Exchange, it has recorded a net profit in Q3 FY24 was far below the INR 6 Cr profit it reported in Q1 FY24. Yatra's operating revenue jumped almost 23% year-on-year (YoY) to INR 110.3 Cr in Q3 FY24. It rose 17.2% from INR 94.1 Cr in the previous quarter - Q2 FY24.

After comparing the report with Q3 of the previous fiscal year the operating revenue of the company increased over 23% from 89.6 crore. The report reveals that, the company made 40.3% of its total operating revenue via Hotels and packages bookings which grew 23.4% to 44.5 crore in Q3 FY24 from 36.06 crore in Q2 of the same financial year.

the company also secured  8.86 crore as non-operating income. It lifted the overall revenue to 119.2 crore during the quarter.

in the expenditure side, the service cost which only relates to its hotel and packages vertical accounted for 23% of the total expenses. This cost surged 68.7% to 26.9 crore in Q3 from 15.95 crore in Q2 of the same fiscal.

The expenses regarding employee benefits for the company shrank 12.6% to 32 crore during the quarter from 36.6 crore in Q2 FY24. Yatra has reported marketing and promotion costs of 10.7 crore and payment gateway expense of 12.7 crore in Q3 FY24. Overall, Yatra’s expenditure increased just 3% to Rs 117 crore during Q3 from Rs 113.6 crore in Q2 FY24.

By controlling the expenses, Yatra turned profitable and booked 1.06 crore profits Q3 against 17.13 crore loss in the previous quarter. last year it faced a loss of 5.6 crore.

Separately, Yatra Online spent 1.06 to earn a rupee of operating revenue in Q3 of FY24. From Apr-Dec 2023, the firm recorded 314.6 crore revenue from operations with incurring a loss of 10.08 crore.

Yatra Online came into being in the Indian public market in September last year with a share price of around 136. With a market capital of over 2,700 crore, it is currently trading at Rs 170 per share. Apart from this, the company is also listed on NASDAQ with a current share price of $1.64 per share and a market cap of $105 million.
