BENGALURU: The year of 2015 witnessed a startup boom across India. Deals, investments and acquisitions made the startup ecosystem a trending as well as an interesting topic across the country.  With the year coming to an end, the same is expected to continue and in fact, be more intense in2016. .

Predictions for the Indian startup industry in 2016 are already buzzing around. While some are forecasting trends, some are more on alterations in the industry. With that said, here are five such expected predictions from the startup industry of India in 2016, repots TOI.

Fintech boom

2015 saw a major rise in food and commutation startups. This year is expected to bring in more fintech startups which will give tough competition to banks and financial organizations. Nandan Nilekani, the entrepreneur and bureaucrat describes this growth in fintech startup as a "WhatsApp like movement”.
