Telangana AI Mission startups to get access to NSM AI computing infra
The Telangana AI Mission (T-AIM), a project of the Telangana government and NASSCOM, claimed to have enabled two Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) between the Telangana government and the Indian Institute of Technology Hyderabad and the Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC) (IIT-H).
The MoUs will grant affordable access to high performance AI computing (HPAIC) through the public infrastructure set up under the National Supercomputing Mission to the 142 AI businesses that T-AIM is assisting through its accelerator programme dubbed Revv Up (NSM).
With the MoU with C-DAC, Revv Up entrepreneurs would get free access to India's most powerful and scalable supercomputing infrastructure with 410 AI Petaflops for a set length of time, resulting in an economic benefit of Rs 10 crores for T-AIM startups. Startups can then continue to use the facilities for a third less than what private cloud infrastructure providers are charging.
The Contract inked with IIT-H would provide Revv Up companies with cheap access to the 833 teraflop PARAM SEVA computing infrastructure, which was also constructed by C-DAC under the direction of NSM. The state government noted that both MoUs are noteworthy since startups can instantly profit from partnering by lowering operating costs, according to OpenAI, which estimates that the cost of training large models is predicted to increase fivefold by 2030.
