Tata Steel BSL awarded with Odisha State Energy Conservation Award 2019


Tata Steel BSL has been honoured by the government of Odisha for undertaking effective initiatives for conserving energy at its Narendrapur plant located in Dhenkanal district of Odisha. The company was awarded with the Odisha State Energy Conservation Award 2019 on the event of National Energy Conservation Day Celebration 2019 under the category of captive power plant above 100 MW.

Saroj Kumar Banerjee, Chief of Environment, Tata Steel BSL received this award on the behalf of the company from the state’s Energy Minister Dibya Shankar Mishra. While receiving the award, Banerjee asserted that the company is exploring new ways and technologies to initiate further innovations in the field.

Tata Steel BSL was honoured with this recognition because of its efforts of improving energy conservation performance through the reduction of carbon footprint and fossil fuel consumption, generation of more power by waste heat recovery and implementation of energy efficient projects.
