Swiggy Instamart strategizes to scale up with adding 4 Key VP Heads

Food delivery platform and one of the tough competitors of food tech unicorn Zomato, Swiggy’s quick commerce platform Swiggy instamart has done a strategic change in the leadership team.

The news of the hires come as Swiggy prepares for its initial public offering (IPO). Recently, the company reportedly filed confidential IPO papers for 10,400 crore or approximately $1.25 billion.

Himavant Srikrishna Kurnala has been appointed as Senior Vice President (SVP) and Head of Product at Swiggy Instamart. Kurnala joins from Reliance Retail's JioMart, where he was the Chief Product Officer.

He is a veteran in this quick commerce platform having 20 long years of experience from companies like Amazon, Microsoft, and Reliance.

Mayank Rajvaidya has been named Vice President (VP) of Fruits and Vegetables at Swiggy Instamart, a key category for the company. With nearly 20 years of experience in category management and operations, including his previous role leading Amazon’s consumables private brands in India, Rajvaidya’s extensive expertise in scaling product portfolios and leading high-performance teams is expected to strengthen Swiggy Instamart’s product strategy and enhance the customer experience for the fresh produce segment.

Additionally, Manu Sasidharan joins Swiggy Instamart as Associate Vice President (AVP) of the FMCG Category. With over 12 years of experience in business development, P&L management, and customer demand management from his roles at companies like Flipkart and Cleartrip, Sasidharan will focus on advancing the FMCG category for Swiggy Instamart.

In addition to this new appointment in leadership team, Kumar Rahul has been appointed as the new AVP of Business Development at Lynk by Swiggy. Last year Swiggy acquired Lynk which will help the FMCG brands grow their retail presence.

Rahul also has more than 14 years of experience in digital transformation, marketing, and e-commerce, having worked with Google, Disney+Hotstar, and Flipkart.

Head of HR at Swiggy, Girish Menon was very much optimistic and confident about the new appointments, and he said, “We are thrilled to welcome leaders like Himavant, Mayank, and Manu, whose experience in scaling and managing large organizations will be invaluable as we enter the next growth phase."

In this evolving era of e-commerce sector Swiggy Instamart is currently operating  in more than 25 cities, delivering groceries and other essentials across over 20 categories in as little as 10 minutes. The rapid delivery service competes with companies like Zepto and Blinkit.
