Startups ramp-up Campus Hiring to boost Talent Acquisition

According to human resources (HR) firm TeamLease, after a prolonged period of layoffs & muffled hiring, startups of India are projected to rise up talent acquisition this year by as much as 7 per cent compared to the previous year.

On this case, Aadit Palicha, Co-Founder & Chief executive officer of quick-commerce unicorn Zepto says that the company has been boosting up the hiring within the roles under engineering category. Also he has been working together on qualified & professional networking platforms such as Grapevine to display the hiring employments of the company.

Speaking on this, Palicha says "We are hiring more people. We have hired 200 engineers over the past 29 months. We are scaling up the engineering team, hiring around one engineer every alternate day”.

In addition, the Startups are opening to venture-back to campuses to meet the demand and requirements for entry-level roles in respective fields.

Recently, a prominent E-commerce unicorn, Meesho announced that it hired more than 150 aspirants in 2023  across various roles including  product, analytics, business, finance, and HR, among others from campuses, including IIT Bombay, Kharagpur, Kanpur, Madras, and Roorkee, Indian Institute of Science (IISC), and IIM Lucknow and Kozhikode and many others.

Commenting on this, Rohit Pandey, placement cell head at Greater Noida Institute of Technology (GNIOT) says, “Startups hiring on our campus have gone up by at least 30 per cent this year".
