Startups are mentored by KSUM to acquire YC funding
The Kerala Startup Mission (KSUM) has stepped in to increase funding opportunities for early-stage startups by setting up mentorship programmes to prepare them for acceptance into the summer 2023 funding cycle programme of US-based Y Combinator (YC), the most coveted dream accelerator programme of startups in the world.
In order to prepare firms for the three-month worldwide programme of YC, which is scheduled to take place from June to August 2023, the KSUM, the focal body of the Kerala government for entrepreneurship development and incubation operations in the state, has hosted online workshops for startups.
Almost 3,500 firms have received funding from the US-based YC, a community of over 9,000 founders that satisfies early-stage startup finance needs, since 2005.
Under the programme, the YC will offer coaching and investment connections.
The programme also makes sure that companies have the chance to work with venture capital (VC) firms. Selected startups will participate in a demo day at the conclusion of the three-month programme. Eight firms from Kerala have so far been chosen for the program's various incarnations.
