Second edition live of Animal Husbandry Startup Grand Challenge

The second edition of the Animal Husbandry Startup Challenge is live on the Startup India Portal as announced by the Startup India which is an initiative by the government of India.

The Department of Animal Husbandry and Dairying (DAHD) is scouting for innovative solutions in the animal husbandry and dairy sector, tweeted Startup India.

Cash grants, demo day, master-classes, showcase opportunity, incubation support and mentorship are some of the incentives provided. It has set the end date on 15th January, 2022 and has started accepting applications from 26th November, 2021. The grand challenge is open to startups as well as individual innovators and its result will be declared on 10th Februrary, 2022.

In partnership with Startup India, the Department of Animal Husbandry and Dairying launched the ‘Animal Husbandry Startup Grand Challenge’, to search for commercially viable and innovative solutions to address the problems faced by the dairy and animal husbandry sector. At a national animal disease control programme in Mathura, the challenge was launched by Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, on 11thy September 2019.

From 11th September 2019 to 30th October 2019, the challenge was open for application to startups. For the six problem statements, on the Startup India portal, 157 applications were received in total.

It is important for the Department of Animal Husbandry and Dairying to keep harnessing the power of new technologies and scouting for innovative solutions in these sectors.
