Seasoned tech industry expert Maureen Chong takes over the operation of Zendesk India
Zendesk announced today that it has expanded Regional Vice President Maureen Chong’s responsibilities to include leadership of its business in South Asia, particularly focusing on the key market of India.
Chong currently oversees the company’s go-to-market teams across Asia, including Southeast and North Asia. This new appointment is effective immediately.
With over 20 years of experience in the technology industry, Maureen has been with Zendesk since September 2021. Her background includes sales leadership roles at Akamai, SAP, and Oracle, where she has consistently built and led high-performing teams, expanding market reach, achieving operational goals, and maximizing revenue.
Regarding her new role, Chong stated, “India is a vital market for our growth both regionally and globally. We have been collaborating with major local brands across sectors to enhance the legacy of customer service through digital acceleration. I look forward to partnering with Indian companies to support their growth plans, focusing on exceptional customer experiences.”
Zendesk has been operating in India since 2016, working with businesses across various industries, including finance, e-commerce, healthcare, retail, and edutech. With its comprehensive AI solution in the CX market, the company sees significant potential in India, which has traditionally embraced cutting-edge technology.
According to 89% of industry leaders Zendesk surveyed in India, customer experience (CX) is expected to undergo unprecedented change in the next three years, transforming the industry. Indian leaders are particularly optimistic about the widespread adoption of AI, with 83% believing that all channels will be powered by AI within just three years, highlighting the market potential.
