SaaS-tech firm 'Amagi' purchases Argoid AI to boost Product suite

Amagi, a leading cloud-based media SaaS provider, has acquired Argoid AI, a company specializing in AI-driven recommendation engines and programming automation for OTT platforms.

This acquisition will enhance Amagi’s platform, including Amagi NOW and CLOUDPORT, by incorporating Argoid AI’s advanced algorithms. The integration will empower media companies to make faster, more data-driven, and personalized content scheduling decisions at scale.

As part of the deal, Argoid AI’s founders—Gokul Muralidharan, Soundararajan Velu, and Chackaravarthy E—will join the Amagi team.

Argoid AI’s innovative solutions have been crucial in improving viewer engagement and optimizing channel operations for streaming services, further strengthening Amagi’s position in the media technology space.

Argoid AI is recognized for its cutting-edge artificial intelligence solutions, which include innovative products that enhance content recommendations and facilitate real-time programming decisions. These technologies have been instrumental in driving increased viewer engagement and optimizing channel operations for streaming media clients.

Amagi has become a standout success story in the B2B SaaS sector. In 2018, the company shifted its focus from providing advertising solutions for local businesses on TV channels to creating a SaaS-based monetization platform for TV networks and content owners.

Amagi reached unicorn status after securing $95 million in a funding round led by Accel in March 2022, followed by an additional $110 million in November of the same year. Reports suggest that the company is in talks to raise $250 million in an upcoming funding round.

According to data intelligence platform TheKredible, Amagi’s operational revenue surged to 879.15 crore in the last fiscal year, up from 680 crore in FY23, highlighting its significant growth and market momentum.
