PM Applauds Participants of AatmaNirbhar Bharat App Innovation Challenge

In the latest address of Mann ki Baat, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi shared warm words, praising the enthusiastic participation of youth in the AatmaNirbhar Bharat App Innovation Challenge. He specifically noted that the two thirds of the entries were made by the youth of tier two and tier three cities. The awards were distributed to around two dozen Apps in different categories. He also urged listeners to familiarize themselves with these Apps and to connect with them.

It was in July that MeitY in partnership with Atal Innovation Mission – Niti Aayog launched Digital India AatmaNirbhar Bharat Innovate Challenge. The governments innovation hub through the program aimed to  identify the best Indian Apps that are already being used by citizens and have the potential to scale and become world class Apps in their respective categories. The challenges was launched across eight categories, ranging from Social to Office Productivity & Work from Home,o Agritech & Fintech, News, and Games.

Chingari app, Indian TikTok competitor, had won the top prize in Social category, followed by Your Quote, a writing app, and an app for micro blogging in Indian languages platform called ku KOO ku. In the Business category the top prizes were won by Zoho Invoice, Books & Expense; Mall 91; and GimBooks -- Easy Invoice Manager, respectively. In the News category, Logically emerged as the winner, while IsEqualTo which offers daily news, quiz and general knowledge for students became runner up. In the Entertainment category, the top three were CaptionPlus; Meme Chat; and FTC Talent, respectively. The Hitwicket Superstars - 3D cricket Strategy Game; ScarFall-- The Royale Combat game, and World Cricket Championship 2 respectively had emerged in the top flight in the Games category.

Prime Minister discussed about several of these apps, including Kutuki Kids Learning app, an interactive app for children, ku KOO ku, Chingari App, which is getting popular among the youth, Ask Sarkar app that provides the right information about any government scheme, and Step Set Go, a fitness app, among others.
