Paytm presents India-based soundboxes & credit cards for UPI transactions
Paytm, an Indian fintech giant, introduced two Made-in-India soundboxes for UPI and credit card payments. These soundboxes promise to provide improved instant notification when QR code payments are received.
The advanced soundboxes, according to Founder and CEO Vijay Shekhar Sharma, are better suited to Indian conditions because of their superior sound quality and battery life.
Paytm’s operator, One97 Communications Ltd., had finished migrating merchant customer accounts to other unified payments interface (UPI) handles at the time of the launch.
Prior to RBI restrictions, Paytm Payments Bank Limited (PPBL), an associate company of One97 Communications Ltd., served as the PSP bank for Paytm UPI customers. However, PPBL’s operations were severely restricted. According to Sharma, the soundboxes were designed to deal with India’s high noise level. He added that they were “legitimate India in the innovations.”
The Paytm soundbox & pocket soundbox are among the new releases.
The company said in a statement that the waterproof sound boxes have 4G connectivity, powerful speakers, instant audio confirmation, a battery life of up to 10 days, and support notifications in 11 languages.
Regarding this new release, the company states, “Paytm Soundbox brings the power of Rupay Credit Card on UPI, offering zero MDR to small merchants for transactions under ₹2,000. This service allows small businesses to save on transaction fees, expanding their profitability and making It easier to adopt digital payments”.
Similarly, Founder and CEO Vijay Shekhar Sharma says, “The combined power of both software and hardware is absolutely lethal“We are committed to expanding the UPI payment ecosystem in every nook and corner of India,
