Pan-Asian Super Angel Fund from Jungle Ventures Raises $10 Million
Bangalore: Jungle Ventures, a Singapore native global VC firm announced the launch of their new angel fund - Pan-Asian super angel fund. The initiative attracted interest and has already raised $10 million in its first closing from entrepreneurs and tech executives across Asia, reports yourstory.in.
Founded by Amit Anand and Anurag Srivastava, the fund primarily focuses on Asia and has heavy investment plans in India, Singapore and other technology hotbeds. The Pan-Asian super angel fund includes Peng T. Ong: Founder- Match.com, Dan Neary: VP & GM Global Market Development - Skype, Jayesh Parekh: Co-founder - Sony Entertainment Television, Lim Der Shing: Founder and CEO –JobsCentral and Anurag Srivastava: CEO – Spacematrix, amongst other popular investors and angels.
“We have made 4 to 5 investments every year over the last few years and look to steadily increase this in 2013 with the new fund,” says Amit Anand, founder and managing director of Jungle Ventures. The fund has added new members to the leadership team that include Peng T. Ong, a prominent serial entrepreneur from Singapore. Jayesh Parekh has also joined the team as one among the managing partner.
The fund is also a part of the newly appointed incubator under Technology Incubation Scheme (TIS) and National Research Fund (NRF), where in the startups that qualifies would receive access to match the funding from government while it is working under approved and licensed incubators.
“Many of our investors, including recently added Partners have personally delivered billions of dollars in exits to their shareholders and their insights in successfully taking local startups to the regional and global stage will be a key differentiating value addition to our investee companies,” says Anurag Srivastava -Founder and Managing Partner, Jungle Ventures.
