OYO Posts Rs 623 Crore Profit, India's Highest Startup
OYO, founded by Ritesh Agarwal, has become India's highest-profit-making startup in FY25, with a net profit of Rs623 crore a staggering 172% jump over the last year, as per unaudited financial information seen by PTI. Agarwal made this announcement at a town hall meeting with staff as the SoftBank-backed firm prepares for a delayed IPO.
Revenue Growth
The company's top line grew 20% year-on-year to Rs6,463 crore, led by a 54% jump in Gross Booking Value (GBV), which was Rs16,436 crore for the year. Growth was supported by OYO's growing premium segment, especially through its Townhouse and Sunday brands in India, the UK, Southeast Asia, and the Middle East, and also saw growth supported by its US buy, G6 Hospitality.
OYO's adjusted EBITDA for FY25 was Rs1,132 crore, a 27% increase from Rs889 crore the previous year, marking the tenth consecutive quarter of EBITDA profitability. In the fourth quarter alone, the company generated Rs1,872 crore in revenue up 41% year-over-year and Rs442 crore in EBITDA, reflecting a 61% increase and highlighting improved operational efficiency.
Market presence
The company added over 30 Sunday hotels in the last year, expanding its premium inventory in key regions including India, Saudi Arabia, UAE, and Southeast Asia.OYO's global footprint now includes 22,700 hotels, 1.2 lakh homes, and more than 91,000 listings, with the number of managed properties rising from just 7 in Q4FY24 to 256 in Q4FY25. The company also reported earnings per share (EPS) of Rs 0.93, up from Rs 0.36 a year earlier a 158% increase.
