Once again Spacetech startup Agnikool postpones their maiden launch of Agnibaan

The inaugural launch of Agnikul Cosmos' Agnibaan rocket has been delayed once more due to technical problems, as reported by individuals present at the launch site over the weekend.

The liftoff was postponed by the company as they carried out pre-launch checks, according to sources. The Agnibaan launch by the rocket maker was pushed back last month with no specific explanation provided.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi's efforts to promote the privatisation and commercialisation of the space sector have led Agnikul to pursue India's second private rocket launch, after Skyroot's successful launch of the Vikram-S rocket in 2022.

In the previous month, Kairos, a compact solid-fuel rocket manufactured by Space One of Japan, disintegrated mere moments after its first launch attempt, as the company aimed to be the first Japanese entity to successfully deploy a satellite into orbit.

The Agnibaan, as stated by the company, is a versatile two-stage launch vehicle capable of transporting a payload weighing up to 300 kg (660 pounds) to an orbit of approximately 700 km (440 miles).

The Indian Space Research Organisation's mission, which spans a mere two minutes from launch to splashdown, represents a significant technological advancement for India. This is due to the fact that India has yet to achieve a successful flight with a semi-cryogenic engine, which utilizes a combination of liquid and gas propellant.

Various companies, spanning from major technology giants to emerging startups worldwide, are actively seeking to deploy their compact satellites weighing up to 500 kg. The primary objective behind this endeavor is to enhance their technological capabilities, as well as to facilitate specific applications like accurate climate monitoring and providing internet connectivity to remote regions.
