Ola Supports the Centre & States COVID-19 Relief Plans

Ola group, India's leading ridesharing platform donated a fund of INR 5 crore to the Prime Minister's Citizen Assistance and Relief in Emergency Situations (PM CARES) Fund to support COVID-19 relief measures at a national level.

The group has also planning to assist with an amount of INR 3 crore towards the Chief Minister's Relief Funds of various states.

In collaboration with the government it is enabling citizens to book urgent medical trips in the city. It has taken up several services to provide safe and convenient transport to citizens who need to go to a hospital for medical purposes.

Under the oprtion ‘Ola Emergency’ a network of cars specially are available with masks and sanitizers, and specially trained drivers. People can book a cab on their app by selecting the ‘Ola Emergency’ option and enter the drop location from a list of available hospitals in the city, a press release said.

"We salute the relentless efforts of the Government and humbly extend our contribution of Rs 5 crore to the PM CARES Fund and a sum of Rs 3 crore to the Chief Minister's Relief Funds of various states to support COVID-19 relief measures across the country," Bhavish Aggarwal, Co-founder and CEO of Ola Group said in a statement.

The tech firm includes various portfolio like ride-hailing arm, Ola Mobility, Ola Financial Services, Ola Foods and Ola Electric. Apart from that, Ola Foundation, the social welfare arm of the company, had recently launched the ‘Drive the Driver Fund'.

The Ola Group and its employees have already contributed Rs 20 crore towards this cause.This fund assistance aims to support cab, auto-rickshaw, and taxi drivers across the country with initiatives for financial assistance, medical emergencies and daily need distribution for them.
