Ola Cabs is set to announce a partnership with the government-backed Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC). Bhavish Aggarwal, CEO of Ola Cabs, teased this collaboration on the social media platform X, suggesting that an official announcement is on the horizon.
This collaboration represents Ola's inclusion as a logistics partner within the ONDC platform, set to commence operations nationwide in January of the following year. Insiders familiar with the situation, speaking anonymously, revealed that Ola's logistics solutions will serve various ONDC segments, such as pharmaceuticals, clothing, and groceries. Initially, these services will exclusively utilize the company's fleet of electric two-wheeler scooters.
Expanding beyond logistics, the partnership might also involve mobility services through ONDC. Although Ola had previously joined ONDC in September, primarily focusing on food delivery via its app, this recent development signals a comprehensive shift in its role. Ola Cabs is anticipated to transform into a full-fledged third-party delivery service across diverse categories, extending beyond its previous emphasis solely on food offerings.
