Now Kolkata To Be The Next Hotspot For Startups
BENGALURU: Startups in India are thriving like never before. But Bangalore tops them all when it comes to startups. The startups culture is slowly picking its pace all around India and many cities states are now investing into startups. Angel investors are suddenly sitting up and taking notice, according to ndtv.com.
Majority of these startups are of foreign brands, but many young entrepreneurs are starting to come up with their own version of the already existing brands. For instance, Wow! Momo is an Indian brand, set up by Mr. Binod Homagai, Co-founder, Wow! Momo, wants to reach out to the world. “That's what our dream is. We want an Indian brand go abroad. And why not?” He says.
NASSCOM, also has set up a target of 10,000 startups which will be up and running by the year 2023 all over India. Kolkata, which is also coming up with some big ideas will only make the NASSCOM’s dream a reality much sooner than it thinks. Investors all over the country are pouring in Kolkata as it’s becoming the hub for startups.
NASSCOM has seen more than 200 applications on their website in eight months and have selected 13 world class global product companies from Kolkata. Kolkata is yet to launch EazyCoach app, which will give students one marketplace where they can get help with admissions and money to travel and study at colleges abroad. The startup fever in Kolkata seems set to be on the rise and could make the city of joy the country's next startup destination.
