Most awaited announcement: Peak XV releases the list of 14 Indian Startups for 10th Cohort
14 start-ups were chosen for the tenth cohort of Surge, Peak XV's seed-stage platform for founders. The start-ups that have been chosen come from the US, Singapore, China, India, UAE, Australia, and the Philippines.
The selection demonstrates a global emphasis on a variety of new and varied industries, including fintech, consumer brands, healthcare, developer tools, and artificial intelligence (AI).
The Surge platform, which provides resources, cash, and mentorship to help early-stage businesses scale quickly, has emerged as a crucial launchpad for startups.
As they navigate their growth journey in highly competitive marketplaces worldwide, the most recent cohort is anticipated to gain from the platform's knowledge.
July 11 was the start of the 10th cohort application period, which ended on August 15. Those that are chosen will participate in the October–February acceleration program. There will be in-person events during the first week in Bengaluru and the last week in the San Francisco Bay Area; the remaining weeks will be conducted virtually.
Surge will provide up to $3 million in startup money in the form of shares in each participating business.
Responding to this, Rajan Anandan, Managing Director at Peak XV and Surge, highlights, "We have made our first health tech-focused company bet in the Surge series this time. We looked at around 4,000 start-ups before arriving at the final list of 14”.
Further he added, “The calibre of the founding team is most important for us to choose for this Surge programme. These founders come to us with very deep knowledge. We are also investing in newer companies, which are deploying AI to build a 10x product”.
The selected startups for the cohort are, Amaani, Ambak, Auquan, Brainfish,  Clout Kitchen, Dezy, Dubbing.ai, The Health Factory, OrbitShift, Parseable, SalarySe, Tailcall, Wobot & Stealth Company.
