MEITY introduces Launchpad for Tech-Entrepreneurs in New Delhi
The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MEITY) has introduced the "Launchpad for Tech-Entrepreneurs" initiative in New Delhi, designed to foster and accelerate the development of startups across India. This program is geared towards providing support in terms of investment, mentorship, and global networking opportunities for young entrepreneurs looking to launch and expand their ventures. Additionally, promising startups will have the opportunity to receive extensive training and funding of up to one crore rupees over a three-month period.
During the event, MEITY Secretary S. Krishnan emphasized the evolving entrepreneurial environment in India, noting that the country has shifted from being primarily an outsourcing destination to becoming a thriving hub for startups. He highlighted India's global leadership in Digital Public Infrastructure.
He further expressed that the event's core message is to encourage entrepreneurship in smaller cities, specifically in tier two and tier three regions, and to enhance the involvement of women and individuals from marginalized communities. In a conversation with Akashvani News, Arvind Kumar, the Director General of the Software Technology Park of India (STPI), underscored the significance of this initiative.
