MapmyIndia, a provider of geospatial and digital mapping tools, said that it has invested Rs 7 crores strategically for a 20% share in Indrones Solutions Private Limited (Indrones), a start-up offering end-to-end drone solutions. With the additional cash, Indrones claims it will expand operations, increase the number of flying hours it has under its belt, be able to complete more and greater projects for clients, and develop dependable and autonomous drones.
"The drone industry is a young one with enormous commercial potential. Rakesh Verma, CMD of MapmyIndia, said, "We are eager to work strategically with Indrones to further augment our solutions and offerings based on drones, through which we can deliver on more use cases and needs of both our substantial base of enterprise customers across industry verticals and to consumers through cutting-edge drone capabilities.
The business will be able to provide customers with drones and drone-based solutions going forward. The business's Mappls app will provide more 3D and high-definition maps, based on data acquired by drones, and will, according to the company, give users an immersive and metaverse experience. Indrones has developed technologies that enable data collection, data processing, and analytics.
Indrones specialises in manufacturing drones for a variety of use cases and providing drone-based end-to-end solutions for verticals like smart cities, government, construction, oil & gas, agriculture, etc. It has already been using the "Drone as a Service" (DaaS) approach to deal with clients all over India.
According to Pravin Prajapati, the founder and CEO of Indrones, "Drones today are solving some of the most complex problems across industries like mining, construction, oil & gas, infrastructure, agriculture, etc. Indrones is here to be a part of its customers' digital transformation journey while leveraging indigenous software maps, geospatial software, and IoT technologies developed by MapmyIndia."
