Logistic firm 'Shadowfax' expands board with 3 Industry Experts as Independent Directors

Shadowfax, a Bengaluru-based provider of e-commerce express parcel and value-added services, has appointed three experienced professionals—Bijou Kurien, Ruchira Shukla, and Pirojshaw “Phil” Sarkari—as independent directors to its board. This move aims to strengthen the company’s governance and enhance its operations in India's growing digital commerce market.

Kurien brings over 35 years of experience in FMCG, consumer durables, and retail. He played a pivotal role as a founding member at Titan Industries and Reliance Retail, where he contributed to scaling multibillion-dollar businesses.

Shukla, Co-Founder and Managing Partner at Synapses, a venture capital fund focused on climate and health technology, has more than 20 years of experience in venture capital, private equity, strategy consulting, and investment banking across India, the US, and Europe.

Sarkari, a chartered accountant, helped establish UPS in India and later became the CEO of Mahindra Logistics, driving it to become one of India’s largest 3PL companies. He also served as CEO of Gati Allcargo.

Shadowfax believes the addition of these directors will bring valuable industry expertise and diverse perspectives, helping the company stay competitive in the e-commerce and direct-to-consumer (D2C) sectors.

“These appointments are a significant milestone for Shadowfax, Bijou, Ruchira, and Phil’s deep industry knowledge and strategic insights will guide us as we continue to redefine third-party logistics in India.” said Abhishek Bansal, Co-Founder and CEO.

The company is focused on improving its operations and expanding its services, with input from the new board members strengthening its commitment to innovation.
