Infibeam gets RBI’s offline payment aggregator license.

It can now deploy POS devices (cards, UPI, QR) through its CCAvenue network.

This strengthens its regulatory footprint with a fourth RBI license.
Infibeam Avenues, the AIâpowered fintech behind the CCAvenue brand, has won approval from the Reserve Bank of India to operate as an offline payment aggregator. This new license lets the company support inâstore payments via its POS devices that accept UPI, cards, and QR code methods.
This move isn’t just a win on paper, it deepens Infibeam’s reach across India’s physical retail landscape. The company already rolled out its SoundBox Max device last year, and with this license in hand, it can now scale its deployment more confidently and compliantly.
The new authorization marks Infibeam’s fourth RBI license for its payments business. It already holds clearances for online payment aggregation and Bharat Bill Pay, and it recently secured an inâprinciple nod to issue prepaid payment instruments (PPIs). According to company data for FY25, it processed a staggering Rs 8.67 lakh crore in transactions across its payments and platform services, serving more than 10 million merchants in India and abroad.
Vishwas Patel, Infibeam’s Joint Managing Director, highlighted that the company’s strength lies in its compliance-first approach. He added that the offline aggregator license will help Infibeam roll out POS devices more systematically across the country, a timely move as POS usage rises in line with India’s growing economy.

Beyond its domestic push, Infibeam’s regulatory milestones continue. In October, its subsidiary IA Fintech secured an inâprinciple Payment Service Provider (PSP) license from the International Financial Services Centres Authority at GIFT City. This license will enable services like escrow, crossâborder transfers, and global merchant acquisition.
