Industry Giants Increasingly Prefer Startups Over Agencies


Bangalore: On closely observing the digital advertisement industry one can see a shift in companies preferring to go ahead with startups ignoring traditional agencies. The very reason that the young brains are more advanced and tuned with digital technology and social media attracts clients.  

Mahindra & Mahindra approached Hungama, a startup in the industry discarding their old partners, Interface and Lodestar for the launch of Quanto, their latest SUV. The digital toddlers took it into another level by creating a digital experience ignoring the conventional rules of ad making.

PN Shah, CEO-automotive, Mahindra & Mahindra responded to his decision of partnering with the new comers saying; "The response time for social media activities should be next to nothing". Top consumer companies including HUL, Godrej Consumer, Ford and Honda are treading the same path showing a cold-shoulder approach towards the old agencies such as JWT, Dentsu, Mindshare, Interface, Lowe Lintas and Mudra. There has been a growing demand for fresh brains and digital startups like WATConsult, BCWebWise, Bloggers' Mind, Blogworks and Digit9.0
