Indian startups have increased 300 times in the last nine years
Jitendra Singh, Federal Minister of State for Science and Technology, the number of Indian startups increased 300 times over the previous nine years. Speaking at a gathering in Rashtrapati Bhavan, he stated that there were only about 350 businesses before 2014, but that number increased dramatically after that year to over 90,000, including more than 100 unicorns.
Singh continued by saying that within only three years, more than 100 businesses had emerged in the space industry as a result of the government simultaneously opening up the area to private investment. The number of biotech startups increased from about 50 to about 6,000.
There is no shortage of intellect, ability, originality, or creativity among India's youth, according to Singh, but they lack a supportive environment and sufficient patronage from the political leadership, which Prime Minister Modi provides.
The honours granted today, he continued, show that there is no correlation between formal education degrees and invention ability. We also have a lot of innovative potential, even among young people in rural areas. By introducing National Education Policy 2020, which places a focus on skill rather than just academic degrees and educates people for careers based on their aptitude and skill, the PM wanted to solve this issue, the speaker continued.
