India Lures British Tech Startups With Ample Opportunities
Bangalore: While most Indian startups look at setting up an office in the U.S. or other European countries, sixteen digital wireless and mobile software technology startups from the United Kingdom were in Delhi to explore business opportunities. As a part of the entrepreneur-led trade mission-WebMission 2013, these startups look at exploring ideas in the government, rural, health and education space, reports Dataquest
"India's changing market dynamics offer a significant opportunity to UK businesses that can provide technology to serve the massive, rapid growth, The goal of the Mission to India is to provide know-how, connections and inspiration to help improve and accelerate opportunities with potential customers and partners," shares Guy Pattison, co-owner, The WebMission.
Though the current GDP of the India is low, the country has its own catches that can lure startups from anywhere around the world. Towards this, the U.K based startups camped in Delhi and among these there are few startups that have already started working on few government related projects.
One among these is Cyan, a startup that reduces energy consumption. "We manufacture and sell technologies used in smart metering and lighting with cloud based control systems. Since the government is having a number of smart-metering projects to bring efficiency into the energy sector, there is a big opportunity for companies like us," says Bijan Mohandes, VP worldwide sales and marketing, Cyan.
