Hitachi Air Conditioning partners with DPIIT to establish Start-up Incubator
Johnson Controls-Hitachi Air Conditioning India has partnered up and signed a MoU - Memorandum of Understanding with the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade - DPIIT to build an startup incubator to support manufacturing-focused start-ups in the Gujarat.
The startup incubator will be installed at Hitachi's Kadi, Gujarat, headquarters. The corporation claims that its partnership with DPIIT demonstrates its commitment to promoting and fostering innovation in the manufacturing sector and is in line with the government of India's utmost goal of advancing technology and promoting industrial development.
Manufacturing-focused start-ups would receive the crucial support & mentoring needed to realize their ideas through this startup incubator.
According to the two parties, the goal of the startup incubator is to give start-ups focusing on particular manufacturing sectors a strong platform that supports innovation in technology, sustainability, & energy efficiency.
Under the leadership of Sanjay Sudhakaran, the Managing Director of Johnson Controls-Hitachi Air Conditioning India and Sumeet Jarangal, Director of DPIIT, the Memorandum of Understanding was formalized.
In addition to exposing start-ups to top-notch R&D, prototyping, & testing procedures, this startup incubator seeks to assist them in creating prototypes and bringing their products to market.
The manufacturing start-ups will receive mentorship and advice from the incubator on a range of vital topics, including concept-to-prototype development, project viability analysis, and go-to-market strategies.
Along with providing other essential services like legal and intellectual property filing to facilitate the commercialization of breakthrough technologies, Hitachi will also assist the chosen start-ups in handling their prospective finance needs.
According to Sudhakaran, Hitachi has made significant investments in India to build top-notch R&D and manufacturing capabilities. He emphasized that the Global Development Center and the production site in Kadi, Gujarat—one of the biggest air conditioner manufacturing facilities in India—are dedicated to providing Indian consumers with cutting-edge, high-end, and feature-rich air conditioning products.
