Bangalore: Online shopping website ShopClues.com has raised
54 Cr from Helion Venture Partners, Nexus Partners and Teruhide Sato, CEO of Netprice.com.
Founded by Sandeep Agarwal in 2011, the online portal offers close to 200,000 products with over 5,000 sellers across India. It has 200 employees in India and is based out of Gurgaon, New Delhi, Mumbai and Vadodara. The funds raised will be used by the company to expand to more cities.
In 2012, Shopclue raised $4 Mn in Series A funding, while in 2011 it raised angel funding. At present, the company handles over 18 lakh transactions annually and around 42 Mn visitors a year.
ET stated that in January 2013, Shopclues posted a revenue of about R8 Cr and handled 1.52 lakh transactions compared to Rs 11 lakh in revenue and 200 transactions in January 2012.
Unilazer Ventures recently invested in Valyoo Technologies, operator of multi-product sites like LensKart, BagsKart, WatchKart and JewelKart. Flipkart too has received its fourth round and raised $150 Mn investment from Naspers and Tiger Global.
