HDFC Bank Allocates Rs 99 Lakh to Aid Goan Startups; Signs MoU with Department of Information Technology, Electronics, and Communications. The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) is geared towards promoting UN Sustainable Development Goals in Goa through startup assistance and awareness initiatives. The bank's commitment will be utilized to back startups focusing on sustainability. According to IT Director Yashaswini B., this non-financial MoU entails HDFC Bank supporting startups through its CSR initiative to foster the growth of more startups in the state.
The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was executed on National Startup Day, coinciding with the unveiling of the Goa Startup Digest 2023. This comprehensive document highlights government initiatives and success stories of notable startups in Goa. D S Prashant, CEO of the Goa Startup Cell, emphasized that the government acknowledges the importance of fostering an entrepreneurial culture and is actively working to instill such a culture within the ecosystem.
The successful startups in Goa, including Molbio, Blive, Bodhami, Transerve, Minko, Kabira, Contractzy, Numadic, Spintly, Stoa, Wakao, and Namaste Chai, were identified and honored by the Goa Startup Cell. Prashant urged the founders of these successful startups and IT companies to collaborate, offering mentorship to fortify the next generation of startups and entrepreneurs in Goa. Yashaswini mentioned that Goa currently boasts 439 registered startups, with a notable increase since the pandemic. These startups predominantly operate in tourism, life sciences, food and beverages, and IT services. Minister for IT and Tourism Rohan Khaunte emphasized the need for Goa to enhance its tourism brand by incorporating information technology, inclusivity, and transparency.
