Genrobotics Among Top Three Indian Startups at Global AI Summit
"Genrobotics, the Kerala-origin startup renowned for its innovative use of technology for societal impact, secured a position among India's top three Artificial Intelligence (AI) startups. This recognition was achieved at the Global Partnership on Artificial Intelligence (GPAI) Summit 2023, hosted by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology in New Delhi. Genrobotic's G-gaiter Robotic Technology received the accolade in the 'AI Gamechangers' segment during the summit held from December 12 to 14 at Bharat Mandapam, inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi".
S Krishnan, Secretary of the Ministry of Electronics and IT, conferred the award upon Afsal Muttikkal, Regional Director of Genrobotics Medical and Mobility, along with Arun Dominic, Regional Business Development Manager, in the presence of Abhishek Singh, Additional Secretary of the Ministry. Genrobotics earned recognition for its exceptional healthcare innovation, specifically for developing G Gaiter, an advanced AI-powered robotic gait trainer. G Gaiter serves individuals recovering from mobility loss caused by conditions like stroke, spinal injury, accidents, Parkinson’s disease, offering faster rehabilitation with reduced dependence on others.
Afsal Muttikkal expressed that this esteemed recognition would motivate Genrobotics in its continuous pursuit of creating technology-driven products to ensure top-notch neuro-rehabilitation treatment for patients facing limited mobility. He emphasized that G Gaiter has swiftly emerged as a highly effective tool aiding in the rehabilitation of individuals experiencing mobility loss due to diverse conditions. Unlike conventional physiotherapy treatments that may span years, G Gaiter, employing AI and advanced robotic technology, accelerates the rehabilitation process significantly. Earlier this year in July, Genrobotics had also received the Medicall Made in India Innovation 2023 Golden Award for G Gaiter.
Genrobotics is actively collaborating with major hospital chains in India, including Aster, to introduce the G Gaiter robotic gait trainer in their Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation departments. Notably, the technology has secured approval from the Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation, the national regulator for medical devices, cosmetics, and pharmaceuticals. The General Hospital in the state capital has recently become the first government hospital in the country to implement G Gaiter. Additionally, the state government is planning to introduce G Gaiter at its medical college hospitals in Kozhikode, Thrissur, and Kottayam. Already installed by the Aster Group in their Kerala hospitals, G Gaiter represents a significant leap forward in utilizing robotic technology for the rehabilitation of patients facing mobility challenges.
