Flytta Launches India's First Retrofitted Electric Truck
  • Flytta introduces 13 ton retrofitted electric truck for industrial logistics
  • Developed in partnership with Kalyani Powertrain and Dalmia Cement
  • First fleet begins operations on Yadwad-Goa route; 200 trucks planned

Hyderabad based logistics startup Flytta has launched India’s first retrofitted electric truck in the medium and heavy duty segment. Built to carry a 13 ton payload, the EV truck is specially designed for transporting cement bags across ghat roads and industrial terrains. The innovation comes in collaboration with Kalyani Powertrain Limited (KPTL), the electric mobility arm of the Kalyani Group, and leading cement manufacturer Dalmia Cement.

The first set of trucks is already operational along the Yadwad-Goa corridor. Flytta plans to scale the deployment to nearly 200 retrofitted EV trucks in the coming months. This marks a major milestone in India’s push for clean mobility in industrial transport.

Flytta now offers a fully integrated electric trucking platform for payloads ranging from 13 to 40 tons including trucks, dumpers, and trailers. Their EV solutions target heavy industries such as cement, steel, coal, and minerals.

Rahul Kanuganti, CEO of Flytta, said the launch represents a significant step toward building a green logistics backbone for India. Pankaj Sonalkar, MD of KPTL, added that the truck is engineered to handle high performance demands in rugged conditions. Srawan Agarwal of Dalmia Cement emphasized the company’s sustainability goals and the need for better EV infrastructure to support such transitions.
