Flipkart to Re-enter the Mobile Phone Market with Homegrown Brand MarQ

Flipkart, the Indian e-commerce giant is all set to foray into the mobile phone segment again with MarQ, its in-house brand. Based on a document accessed by a leading daily, the e-commerce retailer has zeroed in on Haryana based Forme Communications Technology and Delhi based Advantage Computers India have been to be its manufacturing partners.

The BIS approved brand currently sells televisions, washing machines, microwaves and air conditioners through the Flipkart platform. While various models of MarQ mobile phones are currently listed on the website, they are ‘temporarily unavailable’.The impending launch comes at the heels of Flipkart’s most awaited Big Billion Day (BBD) sale that will go live on October 16th.
