FarMart-Aerem Tie-Up Powers Agri Supply Chain with Solar Energy
  • FarMart partners with Aerem to bring rooftop solar solutions to India’s agri-food processing sector.
  • Clean energy meets agri-tech, helping processors cut costs, reduce emissions, and scale sustainably.
  • Backed by Avaana Capital, the collaboration aims to power a future-ready, resilient food supply chain.

FarMart, a SaaS-based food commerce platform, has entered into a strategic collaboration with Aerem, an MSME rooftop solar solutions company, to introduce dependable and cost-effective clean energy to India's agri-food processing industry.

The partnership is meant to address a fundamental hurdle in India's agricultural sector access to energy by fusing Aerem's rooftop solar solutions into FarMart's large web of food processors and aggregators. This will help stakeholders lower the cost of energy, enhance efficiency of operations, and scale in a sustainable way.

FarMart operates a decentralized, technology-enabled food supply platform serving over 3.8 million farmers, over 1,500 processors, and 4,000+ food companies in India, the Middle East, and Africa. Through digitization of procurement, aggregation, and distribution, the company is contributing to a leaner, more transparent, and resilient food economy.

Aerem offers a complete rooftop solar ecosystem specifically for MSMEs. It integrates a digital solar platform, a Reserve Bank of India-licensed NBFC, and a B2B marketplace of vetted OEMs, EPCs, and distributors simplifying the process of installing solar as well as financing.

This alliance with FarMart Solaris is a critical milestone towards speeding up the adoption of clean energy in India's food processing sector," said Anand Jain, Aerem's Founder & CEO. "We aim to reduce emissions, lower costs, and future-proof businesses together.

FarMart’s Co-founder & CEO Alekh Sanghera echoed the sentiment, stating, “Reliable energy is no longer optional it’s foundational to the future of food. Partnering with Aerem allows us to empower our ecosystem with sustainable solutions that drive long-term value.”

The partnership has also been hailed by Anjali Bansal, Avaana Capital's Founding Partner, who is an investor in both the companies. "We are excited to witness two of our portfolio firms FarMart and Aerem joining hands to revolutionize India's food-energy axis. This is the sort of visionary partnership that can drive a productive, resilient, and future-proof Viksit Bharat," she stated.

This collaboration is a key move towards developing a cleaner, smarter, and more sustainable Indian agricultural supply chain.
