Entrepreneurship Is Not Taught In B-Schools
B- Schools were founded to train ‘Managers’ and not ‘Entrepreneurs’
It is interesting to know that Entrepreneurship was not really a topic in any business school until the 1980’s. Many students saw various opportunities in business and as the employment rate were bad during those days; they set up their own business. But many big companies were looking for efficient and skillful managers. Thus business schools were found. It was basically set to train managers for big companies during those olden days. As the market condition changed, so did the educational system. Many universities saw people flocking to form companies, witnessing this - during the late 1980’s schools adapted a subject for entrepreneurship.
It isn’t a subject like physics or mathematics to be thought. It is experience and passion that builds an entrepreneur. Restricting knowledge between four walls can only destroy an entrepreneur.
