Dream11 Launches Dream Cricket 24 Mobile Game in Beta Testing
Dream11, a fantasy game firm, has begun beta testing a mobile gaming software called Dream Cricket 24. This software is now available in the app stores of India, Bangladesh, and Pakistan, with a limited number of beta tester slots available. Dream Cricket 24 is a 3D cricket game that allows users to design their own teams and play multiplayer modes with their friends.
The launch of this new game coincides with the challenges encountered by Rario, Dream11's non-fungible token (NFT) business, which has struggled to establish traction among traders during the ongoing World Cup series. Dream11 also recently purchased Sixer, a cricket stock trading software.
The gaming sector, including Dream11, is grappling with new GST regulations, which impose a 28% tax rate on player deposits regardless of whether the game is based on chance or skill. This decision was predicted to prevent $4 billion in prospective investments over the next several years. Observers and industry players warn that continuing this taxing regime could result in even more job losses and users transferring to offshore platforms.
