Dream11 CEO Slams Tesla Over $1K Refund: 'Fans Turning Into Haters'
  • Harsh Jain slams Tesla for refunding his 2017 Model 3 reservation, calling it a letdown for Indian fans.
  • Jain points out his $1,000 would’ve grown to $20,000 if invested in Tesla stock.
  • He doesn’t want a refund  just priority access when Tesla finally launches in India.

Dream11 CEO and co-founder Harsh Jain made a public complaint against Elon Musk's Tesla for refunding him the $1,000 reservation charge he made in 2017 for a Model 3   an act he considers a snub to Indian Tesla fans.

In a blunt X (formerly Twitter) post, Jain wrote in disappointment about the refund, citing that after almost eight years of waiting in line patiently, Tesla told him his Model 3 reserved vehicle was no longer on offer and that the company would be refunding the amount he had paid for holding a priority position.

"Wow @elonmusk, do you have an idea how @Tesla is making ALL its fans and initial believers in India hate it?" Jain posted, expressing the anger of many who had believed in the firm's much-hyped India arrival.

Jain highlighted the lost opportunity, remarking that if he had invested that $1,000 in Tesla stock back in 2017 instead, it would be worth almost $20,000 today. “Way to show fans that @Tesla doesn’t care,” he added.

In spite of the criticism, Jain reconfirmed his love for the brand, stating he doesn't want a refund of the money   only the first opportunity to purchase a Tesla when it finally goes on sale in India. "I'm a @Tesla fanboy and instead of the $1k refund, all I want is dibs on buying one whenever Tesla launches in India (and hopefully makes them in India too!)," he posted.

Jain's comments are indicative of India's increasingly impatient and disillusioned Tesla enthusiasts who watch the EV behemoth dawdle in making its highly anticipated debut in one of the world's biggest car markets.
