Denta Mitra revenue grows 200% in FY 22, reaching INR 30 Million, marking a profitable milestone for the company
Denta Mitra, India’s exclusive dental marketplace that brings quality dental care to patients’ homes, has experienced a remarkable increase in revenue. In the fiscal year 2022-23, their revenue soared by three times, reaching INR 30 million. As a result, the company has turned profitable.
In an exciting development, Denta Mitra has been recognized as one of the “75 Innovative Startups” by Startup India, solidifying its position as a leader in the on-demand dental services industry. This achievement makes Denta Mitra the first dental startup to receive such recognition. The company has gained support from notable organizations like India accelerator, Indian Dental Association (IDA), and National Organization of Dental Surgeons (NODS).
To date, Denta Mitra has successfully served over 17,000 patients, with a significant rise in doorstep service utilization, particularly in urban and semi-urban areas, where it has reached a utilization rate of 75%. Presently, their doorstep services are available in Delhi-NCR, Chandigarh, select cities in Punjab, Bengaluru, Bhubaneswar, and nearby regions.
Denta Mitra generates revenue primarily from dental services, alongside the sale of their portable clinic kit, called the “Suitcase Clinic,” and Clear Aligners. These products and services are made available through their website, app, and social media platforms.
In terms of expenditure, the company allocates 43% of its resources to product manufacturing, 32% to dentists’ payments, 15% to sales and marketing, 3% to salaries, and 7% to miscellaneous expenses. Notably, the startup has recently gained the endorsement of renowned actress and health enthusiast Shamita Shetty, sister of fitness icon Shilpa Shetty. Ms. Shetty shared a post on Instagram promoting Denta Mitra’s services, highlighting their innovative “suitcase clinic kit” for doorstep dental care and providing hands-on dental tips.
Furthermore, popular Bollywood actor Mr. Suniel Shetty has also shown interest in this innovative dental care startup. Denta Mitra faces competition from other dental service providers such as Clove, Sabka Dentist, Smiles.ai, as well as Toothsi and 32 watts for Clear Aligners.
Denta Mitra was founded in 2020 by best friends Satyajeet Pradhan and Dr. Pranjan Mitra. Originally starting with AI self-diagnosis and video consultations, the startup later transitioned to providing doorstep dental services. One of the notable offerings by Denta Mitra is India’s first AI Self Oral Diagnosis, enabling patients to conveniently monitor their oral health and daily sugar consumption using their smartphones.
As the company expands its operations, it remains dedicated to making dental care accessible to underserved communities throughout India. Their unique approach to delivering dental care has already made a significant impact on the lives of numerous patients.
