Cloud Telephony Startup 'Exotel' hits
400 crore revenue in FY23

Exotel, a Cloud telephony platform has been floating in a strategic sphere of growth as proven from its financial statements for the financial year ending March 2023. The startup has revealed its annual results in this week up to September 30, 2023.
According to the statements sourced from the RoC – Registrar of Companies, the operations of Exotel from the revenue developed 32.1% to
420 crore in the financial year 2023 from
318 crore in the financial year 2022.

The revenue from software license, services on chatbots and the sale of its products such as APIs, extension of browser, software development kit and other mobile phone applications were other prominent revenue streams for the startup.
The thirteen year old startup presents voice and SMS contact center capabilities for enterprises to handle their user engagement over the cloud. The interpretation of internet-powered cloud communication services was the prime source of income for Exotel.
The Blume Ventures-invested company has generated a revenue 81% of its functional revenue from local services with the residual revenue generated from Southeast Asia, Africa, the Middle East in the financial year 2025.
When it comes to cost side, the employee welfares and assistances recorded 44.2% of the inclusive expenditure which surged 43.3% to

The overall expenditure of the startup on telephone-postage, marketing activities – promotional advertisements, legal tasks, hosting and many other expenses exaggerated its overall expenditure by 51.8% to
