Cloud Kitchen Unicorn 'Rebel Foods' enters into 15-minute Food Delivery sector
Rebel Foods, a cloud kitchen unicorn, is entering the 15-minute meal delivery market to take on foodtech behemoths like Swiggy and Zomato.
Sagar Kochhar, the CEO and Co-Founder of EatSure, said on LinkedIn that Rebel Foods has released QuickiES, a 15-minute meal delivery app.
Rebel Foods, which was co-founded in 2011 by Jaydeep Barman and Kallol Banerjee, runs a chain of restaurants and cloud kitchens in several nations. Behrouz Biryani, Mandarin Oak, Oven Story Pizza, Sweet Truth, LunchBox, The Good Bowl, Firangi Bake, The Biryani Life, and Wendy's are just a few of the quick-service restaurant (QSR) brands that it owns and runs.
According to Rebel Foods, there are more than 450 cloud kitchens in 75 Indian cities, the MENA area, Indonesia, and the United Kingdom. The company's operating income rose to 1,420 crore in FY24, while its losses decreased by over 42% to 378 crore in the same time frame.
To date, the firm based in Mumbai has raised $773 million from investors including Temasek, Lightbox, Evolvence, KKR, and others.
Zepto has launched a separate app for Zepto Cafe, offering 10-minute food deliveries, adding to the already competitive rapid food delivery sector. In the meantime, Blinkit, which is owned by Zomato, has released Bistro, a stand-alone app for quick food delivery. Likewise, Swiggy has introduced SNACC, a stand-alone app for 15-minute meal delivery. In addition, Zomato has ventured into the fast food delivery market, and new platforms such as Swish, Magicpin, and Zing are gaining traction.
