Booking Holdings, a global frontrunner in online travel services, marked the inauguration of its newest Center of Excellence in Bengaluru, India. This center will function as a focal point for adept technology professionals, catering to the company's expansion plans and its envisioned advancements in the travel domain. The establishment of this new center signifies an anticipated investment of $250 million within five years, with an aim to generate 1,000 employment opportunities in Bengaluru by 2026.
To emphasize Booking Holdings' commitment to simplifying global travel experiences, Randhir Bindra, General Manager of Booking Holdings India, highlighted the company's mission of creating a more seamless and interconnected travel platform through technology. The establishment of the Booking Holdings Center of Excellence in Bengaluru aims to leverage the city's exceptional talent pool, fostering innovation to enhance travel experiences. This initiative aims to cater to evolving business and customer needs by tapping into Bengaluru's tech community while expanding the company's footprint and innovation endeavors in the city.
In celebrating the formal opening of the Center and extending a warm welcome to Booking Holdings in Bengaluru, Tourism Minister H.K. Patil commemorated the inauguration of Booking Holdings' second global Center of Excellence. The Minister acknowledged the substantial investment of $250 million (Rs 2,084 Crores) and anticipated 1,000 job opportunities by 2026, expressing confidence in the state's potential benefits from this collaboration.
Navratan Katariya, Director for Startup Engagement, Innovation Enterprise Partnership, Cleantech at Nasscom, present at the event, highlighted Nasscom's commitment to nurturing an innovation ecosystem to drive digitalization. He emphasized the transformative impact of Centers of Excellence like Booking Holdings in Bengaluru, reshaping the technology and innovation landscape. The Center of Excellence serves as a hub for Booking Holdings to access skilled talent capable of supporting various projects across product development, service enhancement, and shared service functions, leveraging cutting-edge technologies. Additionally, it facilitates the adoption of industry best practices and encourages collaboration among Booking Holdings' diverse brands, including Booking.com, Priceline, Agoda, Rentalcars.com, KAYAK, and OpenTable.
