As data solutions are playing an important role in sectors such as healthcare, education, agriculture, etc .Western Digital's partnership with the Government of India’s Startup India and Invest India creates an opportunity for young entrepreneurs to build an ecosystem and brings together policy partnerships, companies and innovators in a vivid platform. The world’s leading data infrastructure provider, Western Digital has conveyed Data Innovation Bazaar (DIB 2020) to back up and elevate thriving business sector in India. Data Innovation Bazaar 2020 will work closely with the ecosystem to facilitate data-solutions for these sectors. This edition of Data Innovation Bazaar is hosted in collaboration with Startup India and Invest India and Business Partners such as Department of science and technology along with The Indus Entrepreneurs. 

Data Innovation Bazaar 2020 is beneficial to aspiring entrepreneurs, start-ups, innovators and students and anyone is more than welcomed to this event. This version will concentrate on three themes across sectors starting with Data for Social Transformation for the healthcare, education, financial inclusion and energy and environment industry. Secondly, coming up with Innovative Data-Intensive Commercial & Industrial Applications for the agriculture and logistics industry. Lastly, providing Connected World Solutions with Data as the Fuel for smart cities, smart videos, connected homes & offices and next generation connected transportation.

An initiative by Government of India,Startup India has now seen more than 25.000 registered companies across the country since its birth in 2016. Advancement in technology and easy financing have fetched fast development in the start-up ecosystem. Seeing the progress in this field, Western Digital came up with the idea of Data Innovation Bazzar where startups can share their ideas with capabilities to tackle major issues of national needs.  Furthermore, in order to broaden the market, a powerful and innovative forum will highlight data-driven solutions to change and develop the country.  

There consists two phases in DIB 2020 for startups to showcase their field of expertise.  Phase I of Data Innovation Bazaar 2020 is application through online application process which is open until March 15, 2020 on the Startup India portal. Next, 40 teams will be shortlisted for Phase II where they will showcase and present their interesting ideas.  Finally, all the shortlisted teams for Data Innovation Bazaar will be given The Indus Entrepreneur(TiE) membership. The final winners will be given awards totalling up to INR 22 lakhs and specially dedicated for women entrepreneurs, there is a special prize money of INR 2 lakhs. Later, these selected top 10 teams will be invited to Western Digital’s Innovation Boot Camp at the company’s Bangalore campus to learn, scale and engage with experts in the industry, academia, investors and Western Digital leadership.
