The Karnataka Digital Economy Mission (KDEM) has joined hands with the India Electronics and Semiconductor Association (IESA), NASSCOM, and ASSOCHAM to unveil the SFAL and Kaynes Semicon Partnership in Karnataka. Under the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), more than 33 startups associated with SFAL are set to benefit from extensive assistance, reflecting a dedication to nurturing their development and creativity. This partnership ensures essential support and expert guidance, empowering these startups to flourish in Karnataka's rapidly growing tech landscape.
Kaynes Technology will provide support at different pricing levels. SFAL, established as a Center of Excellence (CoE) by the IT Ministry, plays a crucial role in nurturing the tech ecosystem's growth. K. Sridhar, CEO of Semiconductor Fabless Accelerator Lab (SFAL), and Raghu Panicker, CEO of Kaynes Semicon, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). The collaboration between Kaynes and SFAL aims to enhance the tech ecosystem in Karnataka. A significant outcome of this partnership is the introduction of on-site assembly, testing, and packaging (OSAT) activities within the state, a process previously conducted elsewhere.
This strategic move is expected to benefit local startups associated with SAFL, enabling them to streamline their product fabrication processes. A notable aspect of the agreement is the planned launch of the initial production line by April 2024, representing a tangible result of the joint efforts between SFAL and Kaynes Semicon. Sanjeev Gupta, CEO of KDEM, mentioned, "Through partnerships like the one between SFAL and Kaynes Semicon, we're enhancing Karnataka's tech ecosystem. This collaboration will fuel the growth of local startups by bringing crucial OSAT activities to the state, fostering innovation and efficiency. The success of 'Beyond Bengaluru' clusters demonstrates our commitment to building a thriving, inclusive tech environment".
