Website to Promote Youth Entrepreneurship in India: SIDBI Initiative

Bangalore: Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI) has launched a website – SmallB.in, to promote youth entrepreneurship in India and help start-ups convert their ideas and thoughts into big businesses. The portal available in English and Hindi is a single source of information for those aspiring to set up a venture.

"Young entrepreneurs do not know where to start. To add to it, a large number of registrations are required to start a business," said Sushil Muhnot, chairman and managing director of SIDBI. This website which is designed very simple will create an awareness of opportunities existing in India and create an understanding of environment, policies and regulations.

An entrepreneur will be able to find reports, case studies, best practices, white papers and ready to use templates. Additionally it provides policies, schemes, acts & regulations by central government and state governments.

One can also find list of companies with their own stories such as Naukri.com, IndiBulls, UTV etc. SIDBI will also set up consultancies for young entrepreneurs where they will be advised on how to go about raising capital, specifically from banks with retired bank officials to be appointed at these consultancy clusters.

This is the first online initiative till now by Indian government body for start-ups to get all the information they need at one place and to get started with their business ideas in India.
