HYDERABAD: Uber, the world's largest taxi aggregator, on Tuesday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with T-Hub under its global mentorship programme 'UberEXCHANGE'.

As part of this MoU, T-Hub, billed as India's largest technology incubator, will be leveraging its expertise in shortlisting 20 start-ups through both Uber and T-Hub's existing network.

T-Hub will invite start-ups to apply for the 'UberEXCHANGE' programme through an online application process and will encourage participation and representation from start-ups across the country.

The MoU was signed by the officials by Uber and T-Hub in the presence of Eric Alexander, Head-Business, Uber Asia.

Uber also conducted an intensive mentorship session for social impact start-ups. Eric spearheaded the session conducted as part of 'UberEXCHANGE'.

The session saw participation from promising social impact start-ups which received guidance on critical issues of funding, marketing, operations, finance and technology.

"One of the most important things for entrepreneurs is to surround themselves with experienced mentors who understand what they are going through and who can provide the right guidance and support," Eric said.

"I have been lucky enough in my life to have great mentors who I have learned so much from, and now as a mentor at 'UberEXCHANGE', I am excited to pay it forward, especially in an environment like India, which has the third largest start-up ecosystem in the world," he added.

'UberEXCHANGE is part of Uber's mission to create a start-up ecosystem in partnership with 'InvestIndia'. As part of 'UberEXCHANGE', global leaders at Uber will be conducting six separate mentorship sessions with select Indian start-ups across different categories over the year.

The sessions will culminate in a grand finale with Uber shortlisting 10 start-up finalists who will be flown to San Francisco to meet Uber's senior leadership and be introduced to potential investors.
