Having powerful computers and sensitive sensors on-board for complete self-driven system, tweeted Elon Musk, CEO & Co-Founder at Tesla.

The post also said that this manufacturing number shows that Tesla will pool more connected vehicles than other auto mobile companies combined. Earlier, Elon anticipated that its feature-packed fully self-driving (FSD) technology would be available for the automaker's electric vehicles by the end of 2019. However, during the brand's Q4 earnings announcement, he said that the company is yet to achieve the milestone. Commenting on the scenario he said, “We are pretty close, it’s looking like we might be feature-complete in a few months”

The brain behind Tesla also stated that he is hosting a Hackathon event at his house, along with the Tesla self-driving AI team. The event would act as a examining platform for the AI team of Tesla to verify the confidentiality, authentication and security of the company’s fully self-driven technology.

The company uses a technology which is not fully-self driving system but a semi-automated mechanism called Autopilot system. It requires the driver's attention in case of an emergency. Over the years, a couple of times, this technology has made headlines for wrong reasons, even involving deaths of the occupants of Tesla vehicles.
