BENGALURU: It’s been a year since All IIT Placement Committee (AIPC) blacklisted some thirty odd startups from the placement process of the well-renowned IIT campuses. However, it has been learned that the blacklisted companies have not only extended to target the top talents, but the hiring process still continues to persist in the premiere institute. These banned startups are looking forward to grab fresh graduates from the institutes.

According to the Business Insider, Many companies were blacklisted by the All IIT Placement Committee (AIPC) and were denied the permission to take part in the placement process. The students offered job by the startups were given late joining dates making the AIPC to take strict action against the startups. For the same, some startups even cancelled the offer letters.

On the other hand, the startups are very much concerned about the ban without giving any prior warning. NewFloats a startup alleged that "It was unfair to ban us without issuing any warning. This ban will not prevent us from taking top talent from the IITs,” said Jasminder Singh Gulati, CEO. NewFloats also reported that it further plans to hire fresh talents from IITs.

On the contrary, the director of Mera Hunar, Vinay Dala also commented that the big startups were at least given an opportunity to explain, where as the smaller one’s weren’t. "Startups like ours need premier engineering talent to thrive in the competition and even the IIT students are looking forward to join startups like ours. Students from the IITs are reaching out to us in any case despite the official ban.”

However, AIPC is planning to revoke the ban saying- "We are just protecting students' welfare. Companies have no right behaving unprofessionally with students”.
