Power2SME, The Buying Club for SMEs Expands Presence in West Zone


Bangalore: Power2sme, the buying club for SMEs, today announced their expansion in West Zone with the opening of new offices in Pune, Mumbai and Ahmedabad. The new locations will give Power2sme the opportunity to cater to the demands of SMEs in the West Zone with Pune being the Regional Head Office for the West Zone. With three new offices, SMEs in automotive components, plastics & polymers, manufacturing and construction sectors will now get the opportunity to procure quality raw materials at competitive prices.

Having started operations in January 2012, Power2sme’s mission is to increase profits for the Indian SMEs. As the Buying Club for Indian SMEs, the company focuses on working with established and trusted suppliers, so the SMEs are assured of the quality of the product that they purchase and at the same time, reduce their purchase prices and increase productivity. Power2sme makes life simple and more efficient for SMEs by being a one stop destination for managing purchase requirements for multiple business needs.  Power2sme is currently growing at a rate of 100% month on month and expects to end the first year with annual sales of INR 50 Cr and growing to INR 1,000 Cr over the next 3-5 years. The company’s current focus is on servicing construction, manufacturing, precision engineering, automotive OEM and it plans to expand the services to other sectors of the economy over the next 18 months.

Commenting on the opening of the new office, R. Narayan, Founder & CEO, Power2sme said, “With the heightened activity in the North Zone and having a well-established office in Gurgaon, it made great sense to expand the company further and open up offices in the West Zone. Our recent series of funding has enabled us to further scale our operations, focus on newer sectors and increase our reach in the Indian market. We see immense potential in the Pune, Mumbai and Ahmedabad market for us to expand and empower the growing number of SMEs by increasing their profits and productivity.”

Power2sme has already hired a team of 12 people for the West Zone till date and plans to hire more in the first half of the next financial year. These positions are in sales, supply chain and alliances in Pune and the Sales Head for West Zone based out of Pune. Overall, Power2sme has a team of 80 people, which is expected to touch 150 by March 2013.

“As part of our expansion plans, we are hiring a pan India team to ensure that we are able to cater to demand from multiple regions for multiple product categories. We are attracting employees from core sectors like steel, metal, paints etc., and the infusion of talent is helping us to rapidly scale our revenues,” Narayan added.
