Modi's 100 Days: 10,000-crore Fund Initiated For Startups

" PM Modi's 100 days: Rs 10,000-crore fund is a boon for startups, but how it will be spent is unclear. It's a startups' government as well. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is a first-time MP and PM. The sentiment is different now. Never before have we seen $3 billion being committed within a space of 24 hours in e-commerce or any other new sector," added Padmaja, referring to the recent announcement by Flipkart followed by Amazon's infusion of fresh capital to expand their e-commerce businesses in India.

Meanwhile a stable government, positive budget pronouncements  for the early ventures are welcomed, there are still some issues that need to be worked out. "It's not clear how the government will spend the Rs 10,000-crore venture fund. Besides, India scores very low on ease of doing business," Vineet Rai, Founder-chairman, Intellecap exclaimed.
