Matrix Partners India raises second fund of $300 Million

Bangalore: Matrix Partners India raised $300 million in the second round of funding. With the close of this fund the management has $600 million under two funds to make early and growth stage investments of $30 million in companies focused on the Indian domestic market in the internet/mobile, education, financial services, healthcare and infrastructure services sectors. The firm's current portfolio consists of 16 companies including Muthoot Finance and TreeHouse Education and is the first institutional investor and largest institutional shareholder in both the companies. The closing of the second fund is considered to be a significant milestone in the journey of Matrix Partners India in building India's pre-eminent investment firm.
