IIM-C, Bengal Government To Train Entrepreneurs

Kolkata: In a bid to tap entrepreneurs and enhance their skills, country's premier B-School, the Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta (IIM-C), will assist the West Bengal government to impart training to select candidates, a release said on Tuesday.

According to the statement, the state government's department of micro and small scale enterprises and textiles will collaborate with IIM-C to help select and train around 1000 entrepreneurs starting next year.

District Industrial Centres (DICs) under the department will screen and zero-in on the prospective candidates, who will be schooled at IIM-C.

An agreement was signed by MSSET and IIM-C in presence of chief minister Mamata Banerjee earlier this month to further the initiative.

On the other hand, as the IT industry is shining with successful entrepreneurs, the central government plans its next step to bring about similar growth in success by funding the start-ups dedicated to manufacturing sectors.
